Callie’s Apothecary has the privilege of serving registered medical cannabis patients and caregivers. We know that qualifying for Alabama’s medical cannabis program and entering the AMCC patient registry before receiving your medical cannabis card can feel like a lot to navigate on its own. Once you’re registered, understanding the products available to you is the next step, and that’s where we’re glad to help.
Tinctures, gel cubes, lozenges, topicals, and suppositories each come with their own instructions, serving guidance, and timing considerations. This overview is meant to walk you through what’s available, so you can have an informed conversation about what may fit your daily routine.
1. Tinctures
Tinctures are liquid formats taken by mouth, often placed under the tongue for ease of use. Because the liquid form allows for precise measurement, many patients appreciate being able to follow the dosing guidance on the product label closely (always read your product’s instructions in full).
2. Water-Soluble Tinctures
Water-soluble tinctures are a distinct liquid format. Patients should use these products only as directed on the approved product label and consult their certifying physician with questions about administration.
3. Gel Cubes
Gel cubes are a pre-measured, oral option that can make serving sizes easier to track for patients who prefer a clearly defined format. Patients should follow the serving and administration instructions on the product label and should not change their recommended dosage without consulting their certifying physician.
4. Lozenges
Lozenges offer a portable, discreet oral option for patients who want something easy to carry and use.
5. Topicals
For patients who prefer a non-oral option, Callie’s also carries topical products, applied directly to the skin. These include a roll-on gel and a hand and body cream, designed for targeted, localized application as part of a patient’s routine.
6. Suppositories
Suppositories availability may cary through participating dispensaries, and offer precise dosing for patients who prefer this format. Because these are prepared to order, we recommend speaking with our team in advance about availability.
Onset and duration vary depending on the specific product, serving size, method of administration, and individual patient. Registered patients should follow the product label and consult their certifying physician with questions about timing, dosage, or their personal care plan.
Understanding the Available Product Formats
Every patient’s path to care looks different. What matters most is what fits your routine, your comfort level, and your certifying physician’s guidance. A few things worth considering as you look through the options:
- The format itself (liquid, gel cube, lozenge, topical, or suppository)
- The serving size listed on the product label
- How the format fits into your daily routine
- Onset time, and how that lines up with when you need it
Visit Callie’s Apothecary
Beyond product formats, Callie’s Apothecary provides ongoing support designed around each patient’s individual needs. Our education page walks registered patients through the fundamentals of Alabama’s medical cannabis program, from registry requirements to product basics, giving you the chance to review the details on your own time before or after a visit.
For patients who prefer a more personal conversation, our staff is always available in-store to answer questions about serving sizes, timing, and how different formats might fit into your day.
Registered patients and caregivers may ask our staff whether any AMCC-approved patient service programs are currently available. Participation is optional and does not replace guidance from a certifying physician. If its your first visit or fiftieth, our goal remains the same: to make sure Alabama’s medical cannabis patients feel informed, respected, and supported at every step
Our dispensary is located on Atlanta Highway in Montgomery and open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM. If you have any questions before your visit, please give us a call at 334-901-3394.
